The Department of Clinical Biochemistry
The Department of Clinical Biochemistry provides analytical, clinical, and educational activities in the field of clinical biochemistry. The laboratories are accredited by the Czech Accreditation Institute according to the ČSN EN ISO 15189: 2013. The laboratory section of the department consists of an automated analysis section, an immunochemical methods section, and a special methods section. The Department of Clinical Biochemistry also provides professional supervision of POCT (point of care testing) analysers located in the hospital’s clinics. The clinical part of the department is the National Centre for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Familial Hypercholesterolemia and a unit for performing glucose tolerance tests.
