The oncology outpatient clinic

The oncology outpatient clinic has been in operation since 2016 and provides highly specialised preventive and therapeutic care to patients who were treated for cancer during childhood. The department monitors and evaluates the occurrence of late effects of cancer and its treatment (chemotherapy, radiotherapy, biological or surgical treatment) in cooperation with the Department of Paediatric Oncology of the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University and University Hospital Brno.

Our care is based on a multidisciplinary approach. We work with a network of specialists from many medical fields to prevent and treat late effects. These include cardiologists, pulmonologists, ophthalmologists, phoniatrists and audiologists, dermatologists, neurosurgeons, neurologists, endocrinologists, reproductive medicine specialists, orthopaedists, surgeons, and radiologists. We also provide our patients with nutritional counselling, healthy lifestyle advice, and psychological consultations.

Our goal is to prevent and, if necessary, detect the late effects of cancer treatment in patients treated during childhood. Together with the patient, we strive to maintain health and an optimal quality of life after cancer treatment in childhood.
