The central operating rooms
The central operating rooms are divided into two main specialisations – orthopaedic and neurosurgical surgery. In 2024, a modern robotic operating room was put into operation, expanding the possibilities of cutting-edge surgical care. The operating rooms located on the 3rd and 4th floors of building O1 are managed by the head nurse, and a team of 30 general nurses and 13 hospital attendants ensures that operations run smoothly.
The orthopaedic section of the surgery department focuses on large joints, performing hip, knee, and shoulder replacements. The doctors at the orthopaedic clinic also perform orthopaedic oncology surgery. In neurosurgery, patients are operated on a non-stop basis, i.e., in addition to elective surgery, acute spinal surgery and acute cranial trauma surgery are also performed in the operating rooms.
The operating rooms are equipped with state-of-the-art medical and imaging technology and a central source of anaesthetic gases, compressed air, vacuum, and CO2. All operating rooms are equipped with large screens for viewing X-ray, CT, and MRI images. Cameras mounted on operating light stands allow the operation to be transmitted to these screens.
