The Central Sterilisation Unit
The Central Sterilisation Unit provides services in the preparation of sterile medical devices and works in direct connection with the operating rooms (i.e., it provides complete pre-sterilisation preparation and sterilisation of medical devices for the central operating rooms). The central sterilisation department also provides sterilisation of medical devices for more than 40 FNUSA workplaces and external clients. Depending on the type of medical device, physical or low-temperature chemical sterilisation is used. The Central Sterilisation Units checks and evaluates each sterilisation process. Each medical device is marked in accordance with applicable legislation, and the department guarantees the declared sterility.
The technological equipment of the Central Sterilisation Department meets the latest requirements. The department is equipped with large-capacity devices for washing and disinfecting instruments, containers, and transport trolleys. The latest steam sterilisers and low-temperature sterilisers are used for sterilisation of thermolabile material. Each device is validated and regularly tested. Each process is properly documented by a software communication system for disinfection machines and sterilisers.
The unit is certified: Quality Management System – Medical Devices according to the requirements of ISO 13485:2016. The certificate was issued by Tayllorcox s.r.o.
