The Clinic of Neurosurgery

“Our clinic was founded in 1947 as the first specialised neurosurgical facility in Czechoslovakia. During its long existence, it has developed into a facility that provides highly specialised care across the entire spectrum of neurosurgery, including unique programmes such as functional neurosurgery and secure operations in functionally important areas of the brain and spinal cord. Recently, our clinic has also been focusing on minimally invasive and endoscopic procedures, which shorten the length of hospitalisation and overall recovery. The complexity of our approach makes us one of the few neurosurgical centres both in the Czech Republic and abroad. Science and research are also an integral part of our work. We are one of the leading centres with international cooperation, which allows us to introduce innovative and advanced methods of diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the nervous system. As a shared workplace of the Faculty of Medicine, Masaryk University, the clinic participates in undergraduate teaching of medical students and further education of doctors.

However, the reputation of a healthcare facility depends both on its professional qualities and on its approach to patients.
